LIFE project for the Lesser Kestrel participated in the conference held on 20 May 2016 in the framework of the first Eco-Fest of Larissa about the value of traditional varieties. The Eco-Fest  was organized by the Municipality of Larissa in collaboration with the University of Thessaly, the University of Applied Sciences of Thessaly, the Agronomist’s Association of Larissa, the Centers for Environmental Education of Kissavos, Elassona, Mavrovouni and several collectivities or groups of agriculturalists engaged into the preservation of traditional varieties and cultivars.


The LIFE project had its own stand there to talk about its actions concerning the promotion of local varieties of barley for the benefit of the Lesser Kestrel prey as well as the advantages of the “Lesser Kestrel friendly” certification for local agricultural products. Communication leaflets of the project were also distributed to the participants.
