GREEK ORNITHOLOGICAL SOCIETY VISITS KARLA LAKE

Greek Ornithological Society decided to celebrate this year's International Wetlands Day with an excursion for its members in the region around Karla lake.

Their program included a visit at the Information Centre for the Lesser Kestrel at Kanalia village where mr. Vergos and mr. Polymeros shared information about the area and the species specifically.

Later that day, all members were invited in an event at the University of Thessaly that included two main speakers mr. Stavros Polymeros (from Greek Ornithological Society) and mr. Giorgos Catsadorakis. Furthermore, an overview of the LIFE Project for the Lesser Kestrel was given by mr. Christos Christakis - the project's co-ordinator, that including some initial results from the project's scientific activities.
