Environmental Education
Lesser Kestrels arrive spring after spring in the villages and towns of Thessaly. This fact allows the kids living in them have a really close encounter with this endangered species. They have the opportunity to get to know it very well, to monitor its habits and learn which human behavior benefits it.
The Hellenic Ornithological Society has created the Environmental Educational kit for the Lesser Kestrel entitled “Travelling with Lesser Kestrel in the towns and villages of Thessaly” within the framework of the LIFE project. It is based on 3 main themes: 1) getting to know the Lesser Kestrel, 2) the Lesser Kestrel habitat and its relation with the environment, 3) Conservation measures for the Lesser Kestrel.
The kit includes different educational activities that can be implemented in different time of each school year and different classes of both Elementary and High School.
